EXHIBITIONS

In partnership with regional, national or international museums, galleries and art centers, we organize and curate exhibitions that involve the artists in residence or other associated projects. We encourage that the exhibitions travel as well as the organisation of educational and mediation activities.

A RAIA

[June, 2024]
Graça Fortress, Elvas
Artists: Bárbara Fonte, Catalina Julve Jaume, Jaime González Palencia, Joana Duarte, Luís Almeida, Mar Ramón Soriano e Nuno Félix da Costa.

Raia is the name for the Spain-Portugal border, one of the oldest borders in Europe, with some limits established since the time of the Portucalense County and the Kingdom of León. More broadly, Raia is also the geographic space, on both sides of the political border, in which populations share historical, linguistic, cultural and economic elements.

Raia was an artistic residency project organised by Córtex Frontal and Galeria Plato in Spring of 2024 where artists of both sides of the border worked side by side.

In partnership with MACE (Contemporary Art Museum of Elvas) and part of the FARRA Feast, the project was presented in the Graça Fortress in Elvas.

The production of the ceramic pieces of this exhibition had the support of Oficinas do Convento, Montemor -O-Novo.
