COMER COM OS OLHOS (A Feast for the Eyes) is a program that merges contemporary visual arts with Alentejo's gastronomic heritage, fostering new perspectives on the creation, representation, and interpretation of Portuguese cultural heritage. Each edition revolves around a central theme, with this first edition focusing on the idea of “scarcity”.

The project takes shape through an Artistic Residency Program, aimed at visual artists and gastronomy professionals, including chefs, cooks, food designers, and critics. It seeks to foster knowledge exchange among people of different ages, nationalities, and backgrounds, creating a unique laboratory for experimentation and reflection.

ABOUT

The program consists of three artistic residencies of two weeks, each bringing together a visual artist and a gastronomer. In these residencies, the first week is dedicated to training, idea exchange, workshops, talks, study visits, showcookings, and tastings, followed by a second week focused on individual work with curatorial guidance.

At the end of each residency, there will be a presentation event through an Open Kitchen. The project will culminate in the publication of a printed edition and a collective exhibition.
